U.S. DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (DoT)
The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has an oversight role in federally funded highway projects that include both Interstate and State highways. FHWA’s Vegetation Management Program guides State departments of transportation on invasive species issues. The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) promotes safe and environmentally sound rail transportation and supports invasive species efforts on rail corridors. The Maritime Administration (MARAD) promotes development and maintenance of an adequate, well-balanced, U.S. merchant marine and supports the control of aquatic invasive species.
